Coaching cash boost for Windsor!

cash boost, Windsor Tennis Club Belfast, Windsor Tennis Club Belfast have received a cash boost to develop their Under 10s tennis programme and produce future Ulster champions if all goes to plan.
The south Belfast club successfully applied for funding from Belfast City Council and has been rewarded with a £5,000 grant.
Ulster Tennis is keen that clubs facilitate children to take up tennis from an early age and hope that this will ultimately increase participation when they grow older and stay in the sport.
Players like Matthew McClurg, who is on the Ulster Colleges programme, have done Windsor proud on the tournament scene and the U10 scheme, it is hoped, will help produce more players who can go on to bigger and better things as they grow older.
Windsor say they are very grateful to Belfast City Council for their financial support and the money will be put to good use.
“We are keen to strengthen the links between clubs and schools in the area and further afield and we hope to be able to do ‘taster’ sessions to enable kids to try tennis out, for example.” said the Belfast club’s Racquets Director Simon McFarland.
“We will be able to set up programmes for children from a very young age and attempt to put a pathway in place for their future development so we are very grateful to the Belfast Council for their assistance.”
