League Teams for
2011 It's that time of year again when we need to think about
our League Teams - for those of you who have played League before,
you know the score - just sign up again! For any newcomers to
League let us explain how it works -
Singles
League - March-April - 5 Men per team and 3 Ladies per
team Mixed League - May-June - 4 Men
& 4 Ladies per team Evergreens
(over 40's) - April-June - 4 Men per team and 4 Ladies per
team Summer League - July-Sept - 2 Men
& 2 Ladies per team
We usually have teams in a few
divisions in the above Leagues so most levels are catered for.
There will be a couple of selection opportunities (dates to be
confirmed) and of course there is the 'Ladder'. It is also a
good idea to come to Club Evening on Thursday and/or Club Afternoon
on Saturday so as Selectors have an idea of your standard of
play. Those selected for teams should be available to play
the majority of ties, however there is the opportunity to opt to
play as a 'Sub' if required. The sign-up sheet is already on
the Notice Board so if you are interested in playing let us know by
signing up. If you have any enquiries please contact Greg O'Rawe
(greg.orawe@openwave.com), Gordon Addy (gordonaddy@fap-ni.com)
or Cathy Fay (cathyfay1@yahoo.com)
have set up a task force who are working very hard
behind the scenes to make sure we are properly represented and have

Tennis
Ladder now up and running!
Windsor are in the process of
setting up a new tennis ladder open to all adult members with
separate ladders for men and women. The main intention is to
increase the amount of competitive tennis being played at Windsor.
The ladders will also help league teams select players
for upcoming matches, so all players wanting to be considered for league
matches should definitely sign up.
The
ladders will not be exclusively dedicated to league players. It is
open to players of all abilities. So if you're not interested in
league
tennis join anyway. By making challenges we hope that everyone will see
an improvement in their game.
Further details will be available once we have
finalised the format and ladder rules. For now just let us know if
you would like to join the ladder. There is a sign up sheet in
reception which you can add you details to. Alternatively you can
email David French (me_dnf@hotmail.com
) with
your name and contact number.

Slim Club AND Circuit
Tennis - that'll shift the pounds, of course they are not pounds
anymore really, but kilos. Slimmers love talking pounds as it sounds
more impressive to say 'I lost 7 pounds' rather than 'I lost 3
kilos' . now I'm meandering...time to finish up.
