Club Afternoon??
Club afternoon has been suspended for the
next 2 Saturdays while the Ulster Junior Hardcourt
championships is underway at the club, so the
next club afternoon date will be Saturday 5th
September.
So,
when were you last in the gym?
If you are looking for something to do this
Saturday, why not get down to the gym and try out
the fantastic facilities we have there? Did you know
we'd installed 2 plasma tvs (catch up on Top Gear),
a running machine and a new cycling machine in the last year?
Marc Howland (contact details at reception, or email) can also show you
how to get the most out of the equipment and set up a tailored
fitness programme for you.

Hey, where ya
been...?
Thought you all might like to
know that I bumped into Maurice Meehan on
Friday afternoon, at the club, he was supporting his young son Cormac in the Junior
Hardcourt champs. Hadn't seen Maurice for ages, and he reports
that he is fighting fit and raring to get back into some
serious tennis action again. Which prompts a question, is it
ever
serious when Maurice
is playing - one of the nicest guys you could play with on court,
so it's fantastic to see him back in action.
Usain Bolt leaves Berlin, Windsor enter
Sttugart...
Windsor make the
return trip to Sttugart this week, leaving on Thursday, away
for 3 nights. Gordon Addy (should that be Sturm-gruppen-führer Addy?)
has indicated that white shorts were to
be the uniform of choice. So, not being the owner of a pair
of said white shorts, having previously associated
white-short-wearers as being VERY OLD PEOPLE, I trotted down
to Gottos to get a pair of white shorts. Happily Stephen had
heard of the upcoming Windsor German trip and had gotten in a
batch. Sadly, they were all in the style of Rafael Nadal, who
is at least 10 years younger than me... Stephen cheered me up
with a bit of discount, and I now own a pair of VOP shorts,
which I will wear once a year....
Anyway, wish us 'Bon
Voyage', look out for some tall stories on our
return!
