The annual Superset invitation tournament ran at Windsor on Saturday 18th June for the seventh year, The annual Superset invitation tournament ran at Windsor on Saturday 18th June for the seventh year, now an established part of the local tournament calendar. The quickfire one-set format means anything can happen, and there were many competitive matches over the afternoon in all the events.
Windsor had two representatives in the Mens Singles, with defending champion Przemek Stec looking for his third title, and Tony Rush making his second appearance in the event. In the Ladies Singles, Lynsey McCullough was out to retain the title she won last year.

The mens group matches provided some great tennis, with good performances from some of the younger players. Aaron Stubbs showed his potential by finishing second in his group, and Tony Rush was unlucky to lose a very close set to Ward Park’s Alex Watt. A closely fought match between Watt and Nelson Boyle saw Nelson come through to face Przemek in the final for the third consecutive year. Having won once each of the previous two finals, Przemek won a high quality set 6-3 to clinch the title.
In the ladies section, Kate McNulty and Helen Harvey put up good showings, and there was a surprise as an inspired Alexis Russell beat Lynsey McCullough in the tie-break. They had to play again in the final, and this time Lynsey reversed the result to win the event 6-3.
