Les MiserablesLes Miserables

Up at the Lew Hoad club I played with a very interesting group of guys one of whom is named Happy. What a wonderful name! Happy is a tennis coach working in Long Island New York and when winter comes in NY he closes the club and travels spending a fair amount of time in Spain.

I teamed up with John Lambert a County player from GB who has a place here. Lovely player who knows his way around the court and great to play with. I think we kept our unbeaten record in all the matches we played together. We just seemed to gel.

Later that evening we head to the Miramar Cinema to see the film version of Les Miserables. A wonderful production and Russell Crowe coped well in his singing role. For Les Miserables fans it is a must see.

Today Sunday the club has a mixed tournament round robin style. We won 1 of 3 and did ok I think as the standard was high and most of our opponents younger. Carole was in the wars and took a blow to the forehead with a hard hit ball but thankfully recovered well.

By the way my backhand is still a work in progress!

The forecast reveals cold weather is due over the next few days so may have to get winter clothes on. Bit like home at the club in Windsor! To date it has been sunny and warm, not like Belfast!

Hasta luego!
