Women Winners at Windsor!!

Windsor Ladies Squash Team were at the Ulster Squash Annual Dinner and Presentation of Prizes recently at the  Holiday Inn Ormeau Avenue to pick up the Ulster Cup which they won earlier in the season.  Lining up against old rivals Lagan Valley in the final the experienced Ladies quickly came to terms with the new tournament format,  which unlike the league is American scoring, first to 11 points and best of 5 games.
The Ladies team consisted of Olivia Moore, Susan Stewart, Suzanne Harrison, Joanne McLaughlin and Sally McConnell, so if you see them about, buy them a pint! 

The Ladies were the only winners from the squash side of the house this year, and although they were strong contenders for the League title for most of the season, they met their nemesis in the shape of a strong Lisburn Racquets team who have strength and depth in their team due to their association with Ulster Squash and in particular the junior members,  many of whom have provincial or international caps to their name.

Windsor Squash completed another successful year where they entered teams into 6 of the 7 divisions.

The Ds only just avoided relegation by 2 points, thanks to a heroic performance by Philip Black in the last match of the season, away to Craigavon.  He lost 3-2, but the 2 points were enough to ensure that the Ds avoided the drop (to the bottom division!). Does that make next year a 'Consolidation Year' then?
