Looking for structured Tennis-based activities for your kids?  The Junior Programme runs at Windsor to cater for all age groups and abilities from 4 to 18 yrs old. We provide Tennis sessions delivered by our qualified coaches in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Windsor is the only Club in Belfast to have achieved the prestigious Silver “Clubmark Award” which recognises good practice and Coaching in a safe and healthy environment.

Warm-up – Football, netball, hockey, team tennis etc.
Drills Aimed to improve technique-forehand, backhand, volley, etc.
Competitive play, games and a lot of fun (King of the court etc.)
Match play practice (singles, doubles)

All Squads and Coaching are run according to the Tennis Ireland Development Programme. Windsor Squads run all year round and take place inside our Dome from October – March and outside on our newly resurfaced state of the art Courts from April until September.

On Monday 7th May 2012, WLTC entered a relay team for this year’s Belfast Marathon; the personnel who ran the respective 5 legs were:

3. David Heraghty
4. Marc Howland
5. Jonathan Mcloughlin

Despite horrendous conditions en route, the Windsor Team managed a time of 3:50:02 Hours….. a great effort. Overall, our team came 295th out of 2067 teams. Bring on 2013, when we propose to have TWO Relay Teams representing Windsor ……

Windsor CLUB NIGHT – EXTRA COURT

The Council and Tennis Committee have carefully discussed and considered the current allocation of courts for Thursday night Club Play.

Following several weeks of monitoring the numbers attending have  exceeded 30 players on a regular basis, the Council have agreed to take a temporary measure to make another court available which will still leave one court free for members to book. Club Play is used to welcome new members to the Club and introduce them to other players, as many people join the Club and don’t know anyone else.  It offers a welcoming and friendly environment and is used as a stepping stone to create new friendships and  new league players for those wishing to play competitively. Therefore Court 4 will now be used for Club Play from 7.00 – 9.00pm, but this will be monitored on a weekly basis dependent on numbers attending and it is likely that we will not require the extra court during the summer months.

Any members who may lose their weekly slot are more than welcome to play as part of  Club Night  and join in the fun – especially next Thursday 17^th May which is Fish and Chip Night! Any changes to times and court usage will inevitably affect someone, but the Council and Tennis Committee have given this careful consideration and are endeavouring to be as fair as possible to all involved.

Our hugely successful Suupertime Stomp is having a date change for MAY ONLY!!

It is normally the 2nd Friday of the month but due to a mass exodus of swing dancers to Galway we are going to have the May one on the 18th instead.

Also there is a slight time change also – now 9:30pm – 1am as there is a charity function in the room.

The ‘TIT- tanics’, a Windsor Ladies Team are doing the Edinburgh MOONWALK in June 2012 for Walk the Walk, a breast cancer charity.
Come along Ladies, with your friends to  PINK LADIES NIGHT on Friday,18th May at 7.30pm, a night of indulgence, pleasure and fundraising.
Enjoy some refreshments and a chat.

Shop and browse ‘Pop-up’ stands, while you talk.

Take time for a few treats and delights, and savour delicious food, sip wine and relax to soft music (not too loud so you can still chat!).

Windsor were out in force supporitng our lads. Went to a great little pub Mulligans in Sandymount and bumped into all sorts of people. Craic was great. Match was unbelievable. Met one bloke, who will be known to some of us who ufortunately didn’t have a ticket.

Not to be deterred, he had a plan.

Lindy Hop classes starting again. First class Wednesday 2nd of May.

 Beginner Lindy Hop: 7pm-8pm (£5)
 Improvers Lindy Hop: 8pm-9:30pm (£6)

Followed by a very informal Lindy Hop dance practice

From 9pm-11pm (£2 per hour or £1 per hour if you’ve been to one of the classes.

It will be a normal club nightbut we’ve added in extra courts and an EXCEPTIONAL, never-to-be-repeated, once-in-a-lifetime-offer cover price of £3 for yer fish ‘n chip supper.

If fish AINT yer thing, a squid will do instead. See what I did there . . ? Squid? Quid? oh, never mind…

There was double success in the Singles League for Windsor as both the Mens C team and and the Ladies team won their divisions – congratulations!!

The Mens Singles C team were expertly led by David French and cruised to the Division 5 title, dropping only one point in their six matches to finish with a total of 35 points. A great performance from the squad of players:
